What's weather like in Houston, Texas?

Houston is a multicultural and inexpensive place to live in. It has it’s big city issues but also has the benefits with world class medical facilities, varied dining options and a relatively mild weather (summers can be humid and hot, though). Housing is still affordable and the suburbs have good school districts. Job and career opportunities are galore in multiple arenas. Not a touristy city, but has lots of attractions within a couple of hours. Overall, very livable.

Houston is known for it’s diversity and considered one of the best places to live in Texas due to it’s affordability. Before moving to Houston, it’s recommended that one has living arrangements ready and a vehicle with insurance, and gas ready, prior to moving here. While Houston does have a public transportation system, it’s very congested and not convenient for the type of distances between places. It’s also important to know how to navigate the tropical storms and floods that occurs every now and then. On the flip side, Houston tends to have a lower than average cost of living and is considered a food haven for any culture or palate.

Houston is a very diverse city. You will find an array of cultures and their foods celebrated here. We have an amazing arts scene and plenty of free events happening all the time. The weather can be unpredictable, so keep an umbrella on you and be prepared for the humidity.

If you are deciding to move to Houston, Texas one thing you should be warned about is the heat. I moved here in March and it has been 80 plus degrees every day. During the summer months it never goes below 90 degrees. The heat index can easily make it feel as if it is 110 degrees.

When people talk about Houston it is easily described as high traffic and hurricane prone. Hurricanes do not come every year and it is a lottery if one comes. Houston has the friendliest people. For a city of millions it tries to keep the hometown feel.

My city is the fourth largest city in the United States and constantly growing. Houston is known for three major businesses. They are the ‘Medical Center’ which people travel from all over the world to be treated for different illnesses, NASA otherwise known as Space Center and the Oil and Gas industries. We are a multi national and cultural city. Studies have shown that you are able to find at least one person from every country located here. Many have stated that the weather is the only downfall and adjust to the heat and then some for health reasons are unable to.

If you are interested in moving to Houston, know the humid summers. The heat can be unbearable during the afternoons, but in the evenings it usually isn’t too bad. However, because of its climate, the city has a comfortable fall and winter. It hardly ever snows or sleets.

There are food trucks parked around the city. It is beautiful to see the community in Houston, from the coming together of peaceful protests in the last few months, the happiness of the world series win back in 2017, and when Hurricane Harvey ravaged the city, people from different backgrounds coming together and helping each other rebuild the city.

Houston is a big city as far as the population but spread apart. It is a scenic city because unlike other cities it has green foliage everywhere. There is still green grass in winter. The subtropical weather allows grow trees such as lemons, oranges, and avocados to grow. The gulf coast breezes in the summer make the Texas heat more tolerable.

Houston is a city that likes to celebrate. There is a parade for everything, whether it be the big thanksgiving parade or celebrating when the Astros won the world series. Houston is a city filled with opportunity. The city allows you to grow your knowledge with some of the best schools, from Rice University to the University of Houston. Houston is home to the largest medical center in the world! This provides citizens with opportunities for research, growth and employment. During winter Houston is lit up with christmas lights and decor.

Houston is a huge city with several surrounding suburban areas. The weather is hot but surprisingly cold in winter. Traffic is horrible during the school year. The cost of living is great. The price per square foot is unlike any other city. You will enjoy the living expenses compared to other cities.

Scorching heat, a cultural kaleidoscope, Texan to the max, and sports fan haven are some phrases I associate with Houston. Colloquially known as H-Town to residents, I have fallen in love with this Bayou City since relocating. The resilience and togetherness of the people, diversity in every arena, and the solidarity compounded by the Houston Texans, Rockets, Astros, and Dynamo teams have helped me find my place of belonging in the fourth largest city in this country.

Within walking distance from the park lies the home of the 2017 MLB World Series Champions. The Houston Astros gave Houston a blessing after hurricane Harvey hit. This caused the community to have hope and to keep pushing and striving to recover from the damages. As diverse and unique as the city of Houston is, it is one big close family. People are active and social within the community. One of the best restaurants/social gatherings to take place is in “The Rustic”. This industrial-themed restaurant is always packed.

As the most diverse city in the United States, Houston hosts a variety of people from differing backgrounds. That being said, Houstonians can count on each other in the event of an emergency. One need not look further than the response to Hurricane Harvey in 2017 to find examples of Houstonians’ generosity.

Someone who wants to move to Houston should it is overcrowded, busy, and dirty. However, despite the ugly exterior, the people are worth the move. Houstonians are kind and giving. When hurricane Harvey hit, everyone came together to help one another. People were offering everything they could to complete strangers. Houston may be overcrowded, busy, and dirty, but the people are worth the move.

Houston is a large city with a diverse population. The cost of living in Houston is very low, compared to other large cities such as New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. The weather is relatively warm throughout the year, but can be very humid in summer. The city is not very suited for walking or biking, so getting around the city will require driving.

If moving to Houston, know traffic in downtown Houston is awful, drivers are known to be reckless, and walking everywhere in summer heat is not an option. Ubers hand Lyft have become extremely popular, however, they are pricey. A bus pass would be the best option financially and for convenience as well.

Houston gets ridiculously hot in summer. However, this should not be a deterrent. All nations and races are represented. Therefore, this cosmopolitan metropolis has something for everyone. The cost of living is low and jobs aren’t hard to find. If you are contemplating moving here, you will not be disappointed.

If a person moves to the city of Houston, it is important to note the immense amount of traffic that affects everyday travel. Houston has great cultural and historical appeal, and is a wonderful place to raise a family. The tropical weather should also be taken into consideration when deciding to move to Houston.

It is very hot in Houston. I would live in a house with lots of air-conditioning. There are lots of things to do in Houston like, going to NASA, visiting parks, or visiting the restaurants like, Taste of Texas or Saltgrass. It is also very humid and can rain a lot so I recommend bringing a jacket.

If moving to Houston, be aware that it is extremely hot. The geography of Houston is flat compared to most cities. However, Houston is a very diverse city and has a lot of scrumptious food. Houston has a baseball, basketball, football, and soccer team too! Houston also has two airports.
