Someone who wants to move to Houston should it is overcrowded, busy, and dirty. However, despite the ugly exterior, the people are worth the move. Houstonians are kind and giving. When hurricane Harvey hit, everyone came together to help one another. People were offering everything they could to complete strangers. Houston may be overcrowded, busy, and dirty, but the people are worth the move.

Houston, Texas, is one of the most humid places I’ve ever visited. Otherwise, the weather is perfect nearly the entire year – blue skies, long sunlit days, a cool breeze… The most important thing when looking for housing in Houston would be to look for a place with a pool. If you can’t afford a house with one, make sure your neighborhood or apartment complex has one nearby. That way, you’ll be able to make the most of the weather here without suffering from the humidity.

Houston is a vast metropolitan area and has a heavily multicultural population: two facts that may be of interest to anyone moving here. The enormity of what Houstonians term the “greater Houston area” is one of the things that make this city so unique. One need not necessarily reside within its city limits to claim Houston as one’s hometown, and even if residing in one of its many outlying suburbs, one still can experience the benefits of living in such a thriving metropolitan area. These benefits include, but are certainly not limited to, a growing job market, a wealth of options for entertainment, opportunities for socialization and networking, and the multiculturalism that makes Houston such a broadening and progressive place. It is to Houston’s credit that it is a city where you can be a part of almost any minority group and still find yourself at home.

Houston is a melting pot of many cultures, we often see a lot of exotic faces here. I felt welcome here as an immigrant. People are friendly and often smile at you. Occasionally, they even like to start a chat. It’s nice to be a part of this energetic city.

There are few things that someone should consider moving here. First, Houston is a big city which means there are abundant jobs for the person to apply for. Secondly, the city has many restaurants if the person is the food lover. Additionally, the city has a lot of places for the person to explore.

As a Houston resident, you will require a car if you plan to live here, however, there are many forms of transportation like buses and trains that you can take to get around. Although I say this, these forms of transportation are often limited to near the center of Houston, if you wish to travel further out, you will need to call a taxi. Walking is not a very viable option because of the lack of sidewalks in a lot of areas which can be pretty dangerous.

With Houston, you never know what side of the neighborhood you may end up on. For example, if you were to take a 15-minute drive west of Houston, you would be in Chinatown, but a 15-minute drive north would land you in Latin America. The heterogeneity of Houston is what makes it so unique. Houston is also a place that makes and creates history. Famous American soldier, Sam Houston was who the city was named after.

When moving to Houston, TX, you must know that it is wild and wonderful place to live. Houston is big in culture, and big in personality! The people here are friendly and welcoming, but the traffic is the exact opposite. When going anywhere in this city, you must give yourself at least thirty minutes or more to travel on any highway. This ensures that you have a nice little buffer of time if you find yourself stuck behind any wise loads or accidents. All-in-all, Houston is a great city to raise your family.

If you are deciding to move to Houston, Texas one thing you should be warned about is the heat. I moved here in March and it has been 80 plus degrees every day. During the summer months it never goes below 90 degrees. The heat index can easily make it feel as if it is 110 degrees.

Houston is home to a famous rodeo that takes place yearly. It is also home to a NASA site, as well as numerous parks and natural attractions. Over five million people call the city of Houston home and love it for its diversity and plethora of things to do, such as numerous concerts yearly.

Houston allows for anyone to create the desired life they live. The dynamic inner-city provides a faster life and the municipal areas encourage a slower paced lifestyle. Houston is also home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center and was chosen for its ability to transfer massive space equipment. Prepare for the heat!

As a whole, Houston also represents the state’s motto: Friendship. There is a large community of helpers and servers. Volunteers are always there to help. And there is never a shortage of kindness. Colleges in Houston welcome all kinds of people from all different backgrounds to join in their mission to educate and help and service others. One of the renown programs, the Bonners Program, helps provide service to the less fortunate population in Houston. They offer academic tutoring, health care and education, and food aid to those in need.

The Livestock Show and Rodeo is the best place to be during the spring. Houstonians are always willing to give each other a hand. Houston has gone through many disasters but after every disaster people help each other. Harvey is one catastrophe that highlighted the loyalty Houstonians have. For example when many homes across the houston area were flooded Mattress Mack, furniture store owner, opened many of its locations as a shelter for those in need. Also during Harvey, dozens of Houston citizens helped their neighbors escape highwater using their jet skis to get through the flooded water.

You will need your own vehicle when you move to Houston. It may be difficult getting around if you ride through public transportation since the buses do not reach places outside of the second loop. Mapping apps will be your best friend to get yourself around, especially in using the freeways.

There are two things that someone considering moving to my city should know. The first thing that someone considering moving to my city should know is the Houston Rockets. The Houston Rockets were in San Diego and then they moved to Houston in 1986. They won their first NBA title in 1994 and then they won their second NBA title one year later. The second thing that he or she considering moving to my city should know is the Houston Astros. The Houston Astros started playing in the Astrodome in 1965 until 1999 and then they started playing at Minute Maid Park in 2000. They lost the World Series to the Chicago White Sox in 2005 and then they won their first World Series twelve years later against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Houston is a very diverse city. You will find an array of cultures and their foods celebrated here. We have an amazing arts scene and plenty of free events happening all the time. The weather can be unpredictable, so keep an umbrella on you and be prepared for the humidity.

Houston is a large city with suburbs that span many miles from its center. It is much easier to get around the city if you own a vehicle. The city buses service mainly the inner city areas, so one cannot rely on public transportation to get from one side of Houston to the other.

A person moving to Houston should be prepared to immerse themselves in a city filled with vibrant culture, diverse ethnic cuisines, and beautiful urban parks. It is a city like no other. Before I moved here I heard a lot about Houston’s reputation as being the most diverse city in America, but I could only really appreciate what that meant after moving here. I could think of any cuisine or food fusion and know that I will probably be able to find it somewhere in Houston – whether it’s some spicy drunken noodles from a Thai restaurant or a Mexican-Korean fusion bowl from a food truck around the block. I strongly believe that Houston is a city where people from any background can feel at home.

Houston encompasses over 600 square miles and holds the culture of many people. In the Greater Northwest Houston area, it’s calming and rejuvenating. The community in Harris County shares a unique culture and is very interconnected. It has gone through many adversaries and time and time again, the community proved its persistence. Hurricane Harvey and its destructive aftermath highlighted this area’s philosophy to help each other in any way possible. People set up food drives, donation centers, and recovery teams to help those affected by the storm’s water.

Houston is known for people that drive extremely fast and discourteously. Houston is a huge city and the fast traffic in Houston is treacherous. If you do move to Houston, be aware, be cautious and always be alert when on the freeways. The freeways have feeder roads next to the freeways that one can drive on if they are not comfortable with the dangerous freeways.

My city is relatively big compared to others. It has many roads and travel always takes a few minutes at least, regardless of the destination. The highways are vast, long and somehow narrow. Traffic is always moderate, and cars are always piled up regardless of the time of day. Nevertheless, I adore my wonderful city.
