Windhoek is a beautiful city located right in the center of Namibia. The streets are often bustling with activity and the people here are quite friendly. The local cuisine might be the highlight of moving to my city and most food places are inexpensive. The downside to living here is the high rate of gender based violence and passion killings, so finding love here is a hopeless endeavour.
I reside in Windhoek, Namibia. The top things someone needs to consider when moving to my city include, the accommodation cost which is not expenses at all, the housing cost are quite fare. In addition to this another thing to consider is the cost of living which is unfortunately high due to transport and other living costs.

What I love most about this city is that it is surrounded by lush green bushveld in summer after the first rainfall and in spring the Jacaranda trees sport vibrant purple flowers, painting the city with blotches of color as the season changers from Spring to Summer.

The people are friendly and extroverted, so rest assured that you will make plenty friends. Windhoek is a city known for a local delicacy called “kapana” and that is something one should try out at least once in their lifetime. Namibia being a country where most of its population is in poverty, first timers should be wary of pickpockets when they visit Windhoek.
The price of cab to and from various locations within the city. Where Single Quarter is located for the best kapana. The locations to never visit alone in Katutura, especially if you’re new to town. Never go clubbing alone and always go drinking with people you really trust. Majority of cabs here are shared public transport, always greet people you find inside a cab, it is rude not to.
Prepare for summer because when Windhoek is hot, one needs to have their bikinis ready! Another note when it is winter time Windhoek is extremely cold. Windhoek is a small city, so making friends will be easy for a lot of extroverts. If you save enough money, assuming you are a student then living in Windhoek will not be very expensive though accommodation is very high in this part of the country.
The population of Windhoek is very small and businesses are not really making that much profit. But, it is a very peaceful area when you want to avoid noise and those kinds of things. It is a very good area for retirement and when you need a place to relax for your holidays I recommend it.
WIndhoek is the capital of Namibia and is thus the most densely populated city in Namibia. I recommend that someone who wishes to move to Windhoek considers finding accommodation closest to areas of their interest, such as their workplace, since traffic in Windhoek is nightmarish. This is not only due to the large number of vehicles during peak hours, but also due to taxi cab drivers who have a general disregard for traffic rules and are therefore participants in most road accidents.
We do not drink tap water, so be prepared to buy a filter or purified water from the shops. Sunscreen is a must because the sun gets really hot during the day. You must be vigilant at night, especially when you have to take a taxi. When we receive little to no rainfall, water becomes very expensive.
