Jacksonville is a large city with a small-town feel. There are two military bases in the metropolitan area, and the beaches are a great place to sunbathe and surf. Saint Augustine, the oldest settlement in the continental US, is nearby containing a preserved Spanish fort and a wealth of local shopping and dining.

Jacksonville, Florida, is the largest city in the United States by land area, sprawling out from its epicenter downtown into dozens of individual and unique suburbs. One of the most important things to realize about Jacksonville is that, due to its immense size, its communities are incredibly diverse and scattered. People from all walks of life can find a group or a neighborhood where they feel comfortable and at home. From historic downtown, along the river and featuring locally owned restaurants and bars to the more relaxed Jacksonville Beach area, Jacksonville offers a wide range of experiences and opportunities for everyone.

Jacksonville is a wonderful place if you are interested in a lively city. We are best known for our beaches. Many people here love to surf, swim, and walk along the shore. There are also some great family-owned businesses you can visit. However, we are a city that sleeps. Most stores and restaurants close by 9PM. If you like to stay up late, it’s best to remain home. Most people are friendly.
