If you are moving to Pretoria you need to be prepared to run the rat race. We call Pretoria our home for 30 years now but are prepared to move to somewhere slower. We will miss the beautiful purple Jacarandas in October, our dear friends and kids that want to stay in the city. Lots to do, much to see and very nice weather.

In the winter it is not as cold as most cities; however, slight wind may occur in the early mornings. The summers are the most exciting, as people do all out in terms of fashion as well as events (parties, etc). In the winter, although it is a bit cold, the flowers are the most beautiful.

Sinaso, says: 2020

Unlike other cities in the world having four seasons, Pretoria has two only. Winter and summer, it is either extremely hot or extremely cold. My favourite season has to be summer, because though it is extremely hot, the breeze from the Jacaranda trees and the Kool-Aids from the street vendors make up for all that.

Johannesburg is “The City of Gold” or ‘Joburg”. Joburg’s sunny climate seems to seep into its people’s souls, making it the world’s friendliest city. You are more likely to be helped by a complete stranger than have your car broken into. South Africa’s glorious perfection of the art of barbecue, combining their love of meat and Chardonnay with great conversations. Our favorite braaied meat is boerewors which is sausages worldwide.

Pretoria is a mainland city and it is unfortunately far from the coast. There are many places to visit including markets, animal sanctuaries and museums. The climate is temperate and there is a low chance of experiencing humidity, as you would along the coast. Houses are usually situated close to large shopping centres and malls.

In Pretoria, one can find many nature reserves, this is a usual Saturday outing for most families. Pretoria has warm climate, usually around one or two degrees warmer than Johannesburg. However, it’s downfall is the heavy traffic.
