Safety and Crime in Pretoria

Pretoria is the capital city of South Africa, with great and rich history. Most of our country’s head offices for both the private and public sector are in this city. While it has no harbor, it still serves as a great tourist attraction site. It is on of the cities with low crime rates and a home to one of the best tertiary institutions; University of Pretoria.

It’s a beautiful place, the crime rate is low. It’s really welcoming, with a lot of people who are energetic. It’s so diverse that one would just fit in with no trouble at all. So diverse in a sense that, there many spoken languages, different cultures and traditions. There are so many beautiful places to visit.

If a person were to want to move to Pretoria, they can look forward to the amazing weather that Pretoria has. They would also have to be careful when walking around in town because it is dangerous. It is a very comfortable city.

Know the amount of pollen released in spring due to the Jacaranda trees. The person should also know the taxi fare, in case of emergency. They should be street smart. When in town they should not look as if they feel unsafe, they will be targeted. Act natural.

Someone moving to my city should know that there are very high levels of crimes therefore they should always be aware of their surroundings and who they ask for help. They should also know that weather conditions here are very humid so they should ensure that they always have sunscreen on and have a water bottle at all times to stay hydrated.

It’s a very clean place but can very noisy on weekdays. I love the fact that you literally can find anything that you want. All the shops that you need are close, including public service departments. There’s a lot a of crime though, so you need to be vigilant at all times.

Pretoria is known as the Jacaranda City because of all it’s beautiful Jacaranda Trees, which blossom all year around. It is also one if the hottest cities in Gauteng, as it only rains in the first part of the year which is January to maybe April. It also has the High Court which is the main court where criminals and dangerous criminals are trialed. The now infamous Oscar Pistorius was also tried there.

The city of Tshwane, however beautiful and abundant in tourist attractions, is not the safest place to reside. One must always be alert when roaming the streets as crime is prevalent, especially in the central business district. One must also know the South African rules of the road as traffic is an absolute nightmare and impatient taxi drivers certainly do not make the experience any less daunting. Those points are sure to have you questioning your decision to move, but do not despair: Tshwane makes up for all its shortcomings through its rich heritage, beautiful nature and scenery, boasting wildlife and biomes indigenous to South Africa and lastly, food that is simply breathtaking.

The person must at least consider being always cautious as crime rate in my city is very high and it takes a very vigilant individual to survive the streets of my city. However, despite my city being one of those reported to have high crime rate it is still one of the best cities one can live in. There’s so much to do like going out for hiking and swimming.

Someone considering moving to my city should know about tourist attractions like the Union building, Pretoria Square, and the Botanical Gardens. The majority of the city is safe, but places like Sunnyside and Pretoria Central are hotspots for robbery and theft. We have the third biggest mall in Africa, called Menlyn mall. Pretoria is the administrative capital city of South Africa.

Be prepared to look around for accommodation due to the increasing number of people in the city. Also, prepare to look for work because opportunities are scarce, depending on what expertise you possess. Cost of living there is quite high due to fluctuating rates. it is a bit dangerous to walk around alone because crime rates are extremely high.

Pretoria is a bustling city, with vast outlying areas. know the inner city can be dangerous. look to the suburbs in the north of Pretoria. These areas are growing and close to most schools and malls.

Pretoria is a very beautiful city, arguably most famous for its exquisite jacaranda trees that brighten the city every October. It is close enough to the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg for its dwellers to still make the daily work commute, but far enough away to ensure a calmer and safer location for raising families and escaping the daily grind.

It is also beneficial to select residential areas that have a neighborhood watch or neighborhood security company patrolling throughout the day.
