Louisville is a foodie destination! Louisville is a fantastic place to live if you love coffee; there is a ton of third wave coffee shops (Quills and Sunergos are my faves). World-renowned bourbon, amazing local restaurants, beautiful hiking and parks make Louisville a great place to live. Unfortunately, the public transportation here sucks, so be warned.

We have great southern food and hospitality. Everything in my city is within a 30-minute commute. The housing market is cheaper than most surrounding cities. We experience all four seasons, summer, winter and fall. We rarely ever get a lot of snow. Our state tax is only six percent on every dollar.

Before relocating to the city Louisville, one must first understand what Louisville is, actually. We are a Metropolitan community. The biggest difference between us and the standard US city is it’s actual size. While “city limits” contains what one would expect the size of our city to be, the “Metro Area” is much larger, and can folks living or work in the outlying areas may have commutes of a much greater distance, day to day. Thus, presenting point number two: It would be best if they owned a personal vehicle.

If you like nature and views which are clear of bulging skyscrapers, this place is for you. But you will need to have your own vehicle, though, because public transportation in the city is very expensive. Luckily, all the most vital stores are in one place downtown. When picking an apartment or house, be sure it’s near downtown.
