From youth sports to major league teams, here's what five local experts had to say about sports in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Kentucky Derby is one of the greatest sporting events in all of the sports. Not to mention, all of the pre-derby festivities and parties. There is also the Mammoth Cave complex. It’s only the largest cave system known to the world. There are countless lakes, rivers and creeks and lots of national forests.

People moving to Louisville should know about the rich culture of the bourbon industry in the United States and the very largely followed Kentucky Derby racing festival. Louisville is also home to the University of Louisville which is one of the largest public colleges in the state.

Louisville is a really wonderful city for young families. The public school district is very strong and there are a variety of beautiful parks to enjoy and cultural attractions like museums and sports events. For the most part, people are really friendly and it is really easy to get to know your neighbors and community.

Louisville, Kentucky, on the Ohio River in the United States of America, is a city with a population of approximately 1,000,000. It is the home of Churchill Downs, the site of one of the world’s most notable sporting events, the Kentucky Derby. Bourbon whisky is a prominent product of the area. Louisville is also the birthplace of the celebrated boxer and philanthropist, Muhammad Ali.

Louisville is a wonderful city to raise a family. It is big enough to include wonderful events, shopping, and restaurants but small enough to make it feel like you have a community within your neighborhood. One of my favorite things about my city are the amazing public parks with walking tracks, sports fields, and trails for hiking. One negative thing about moving to Louisville is that it can be tricky to get your kids into a good public school depending on where you live.
