Be on the lookout for busy streets and traffic. Disgruntled folks and weary police officers. The Bronx isn’t a fun place to visit you know; more like a place of business.
It is typical to notice how overlooked the Bronx is when it comes to tourism, because most tend to flock to Manhattan for the ‘true’ New York experience. The Bronx has progressed as a community. There was turbulence in the 1960-70s, because of the economic collapse that occurred from the construction of the Cross Bronx Expressway, which placed many residents into poverty for years. Revitalization occurred in the 80s and 90 with new apartments and buildings that helped to stimulate the economy.
