If you are moving to Raleigh, you should try find a place to rent/buy on the North side. It’s very safe, near the airport, close to shopping areas, banks, restaurants, etc. Also close to all IT industry. You must have a vehicle because very few people ride buses here. Unless you live downtown, the business district, you drive everywhere but distances are not too long. I am only 3 miles from all my shopping, banking, eating, etc. needs.

Raleigh sprawls across the piedmont region of North Carolina. It lies, nestled, within Interstate 440 which is known as The “Beltline”. The city is known for its multiple museums: the Museum of History, the Museum of Natural sciences, the Museum of Art, and the Marble’s Children’s Museum.

Raleigh is a medium-sized city that serves as the capital of North Carolina. The area abounds with parks and outdoor recreational opportunities. The International Bluegrass Music Association holds their annual conference and festival in Raleigh, bringing thousands of music lovers together for several days of banjo-picking, fiddling and foot-stomping.

The proximity to three major universities (NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke) draws students to the area from all over the world. They graduate and stay for jobs in the Research Triangle, Red Hat, and a burgeoning gaming industry.

When moving to Raleigh, it is extremely important that newcomers be brave and try many eateries. Raleigh’s culture is rich and its food scene demonstrates this.
