The city of Guwahati is the “Gateway to North-East India”. It has a vibrant urban built form with accessible public transportation, furnished residential buildings, well placed market places and shopping malls, and tons of recreational activity centers such as movie theaters and parks. Apart from all these amenities, I would like to stress on the brilliant temperature the city boasts of in the winter, which can be contrasted with the unreliable temperatures in the summer.

To the east the Navagraha temple is an astronomical centre with planetary shrines, Umananda is dedicated to Shiva. We also have the Assam state museum, Assam state zoo cum Botanical Garden, sankardev kalakshetra, dipor bil, Guwahati planetarium, Nehru park, Saraighat bridge and amusement centres like Accoland and Dreamland.
