The beautiful city of Guwahati lies in the North-Eastern Indian state of Assam, in the Kamrup metropolitan district. The Nehru Park, Assam State Museum, Guwahati Planetarium, Dipor Bil, Digholi Pukhuri Park and Peacock island are also some of the places of tourist attraction. Guwahati stands on river Brahmaputra. It is famous for the holy sites like the kamakhya temple. To the east the Navagraha temple is an astronomical centre with planetary shrines, Umananda is dedicated to Shiva. We also have the Assam state museum, Assam state zoo cum Botanical Garden, sankardev kalakshetra, dipor bil, Guwahati planetarium, Nehru park, Saraighat bridge and amusement centres like Accoland and Dreamland.
