What is downtown like in in Manila?

Moving here requires careful planning. They may be attracted by the urbanity but there is a lot to carefully consider before moving here. It is quite difficult to find cheap housing especially if one seeks a room for sole occupancy. Solo rooms often cost around 50 times more than bed-sharing or dorm rates. One should also consider the noise level. As an urban center, quiet moments are hard to find day to day. There is rarely a moment where there is nary a noise to be heard. If one is a light-sleeper, it is quite hard to find a good night’s sleep without the use of other implements.

Manila is a beautiful urban city which offers convenience to its residents. Countless establishments are available when you need them. Despite its modern appearance, Its relation to its historical roots may also be explored by going around the Walled City of Intramuros. The city has a wonderful balance between getting in touch with its roots and opening up avenues for development.

Being the densest city in the country, there is no questions with regards to Manila being the trusted gem and capital of the country. As New York City is for the States, the city is also stacked with concrete jungles and towering skyscrapers where Alicia Keys stated, “dreams are made of.” Though don’t let the urban Manila fool you as it is also known for its many tourist attractions, the National Museum (all three buildings) being my favorite, and the infamous Quiapo church! To see is to believe and living in Manila will be an experience you will never forget!

However, the city is also known for housing numerous slum areas, particularly in Tondo, Manila.
