Rich in history, Burkburnett is located ten miles north of Wichita Falls and only 35 miles from Lawton, OK. There is convenient shopping whether one drives north or south of town. An old oil-field town, Burkburnett received its name as a suggestion from President Theodore Roosevelt after a hunting trip to the Burnett Ranch with the ranch’s owner, Burk Burnett.

Burkburnett, Texas, is a small town about 15 minutes from the Oklahoma border. I love Burkburnett because the area gives me a country feel with city benefits. For example, I am able to walk to a grocery store, but I am also able to see the stars shining at night.
