Many beaches, great coffee and wine — but high housing costs.

Auckland is a vibrant city that is full of life. Aside from the congested motorways, it is pretty much the perfect place. Only a short drive to magnificent beaches and a quick flight to some of New Zealand’s most beautiful mountain ranges, there is no better place.

Auckland is beautiful, balanced between an ocean (the Pacific) and a sea (the Tasman). It is quite spread out geographically, for the size of its population, so you may decide to buy a car, after you’ve been here a while – the public transport service isn’t great. Housing costs in Auckland are some of the most expensive in the New Zealand, so be prepared to pay a huge deposit to rent a flat or an apartment.

Auckland is a beautiful city, surrounded by beaches. It is however, rather expensive to live here. Most days you will need both a sun hat and an umbrella! It is the home of the ‘flat white’ coffee, and you’ll certainly have your pick of the best here. Certainly the best thing about Auckland is the diversity of beaches, from wild black sands in the west to soft white in the east.

Auckland, the City of Sails, is the hub of culture and commerce in New Zealand. With diverse communities sprawled across the city, with cosmopolitan centres dotted throughout, it is the perfect city to raise a family in the suburbs, grow in your career in the city, or retire near the local beaches.

Auckland is great place if you love the outdoors. It boasts a large number of activities to keep you entertained on a summer’s day ranging from extreme sports to quiet walks. One of my favorite things to do is to take a stroll along the beach while indulging in a New Zealand made ice-cream.

Living in the central city can be very expensive, however, living in the suburbs is much more affordable. The commute from the suburbs into the central city will often take a lot longer than expected. There are beaches all throughout the city, but the best beaches are at least an hour’s drive out of town. The weather in Auckland can be very unpredictable, it is best to always pack a jacket or an umbrella.

Auckland is small but has more people living there than any other city in New Zealand, even more than the capital of Wellington. There is also a lot of traffic in Auckland because the city is built around one of the narrowest parts of the country. Some of the beaches around the Auckland coast are lovely, and there are many beautiful views across Auckland Harbour.

Auckland is a beautiful city, with kind and welcoming people. There are beautiful beaches and reserves all over the city. Living here is a bit expensive, like many other big cities in the world however, the work life balance makes up for it. The weather generally, is quite nice but it does rain a lot.
