While quality of life is something of an elusive or ill-defined concept, it can be boiled down to "Is Auckland a good place to live?" or "Is Auckland a bad place to live?" Here's what three local experts had to say about quality of life and overall happiness in Auckland.
Is Auckland a good place to live? How is the quality of life?

Auckland is a fantastic city. Commonly known as the ‘City of Sails’, one in every three Aucklanders own a boat. There are plenty of outdoor activities including walking, sailing, kayaking, swimming and cycling. Auckland has the Sky Tower with 360 degree views of the city and harbour, including the harbour bridge.
In the city of Auckland, the public transit system can be rather unreliable and infrequent I would highly recommend considering using alternative transport where possible. Services such as Uber and private taxis and rental vehicles would be a good choice for a more trouble-free travel experience around city.
Auckland is great place if you love the outdoors. It boasts a large number of activities to keep you entertained on a summer’s day ranging from extreme sports to quiet walks. One of my favorite things to do is to take a stroll along the beach while indulging in a New Zealand made ice-cream.
