Portland Maine is known for its food and drink scene, with many restaurants, breweries, and distilleries to choose from. Congress Street is a popular destination for foodies, with a variety of restaurants offering different cuisines. The city also has a thriving craft beer scene, with many local breweries producing unique and delicious beers. You can try the popular lobster roll in Portland Maine, there are many other places to try a lobster roll in Portland, including food trucks, seafood shacks, and fine dining restaurants. Whether you prefer your lobster roll with butter or mayo, there is a perfect lobster roll for you.
Portland has a vibrant nightlife, especially on weekends, with many bars, clubs, and music venues to choose from. The city is known for its live music scene, with many local bands and musicians performing at venues throughout the city.

Portland sits right on the harbor and the ocean surrounds the sides of the downtown peninsula. You can see the ocean, smell the sea salt and you can count on that crisp ocean breeze on hot summer days. The colder months, which are most of the year, still offer much beauty. You can sit on top of the Eastern Prom in a snowstorm with a hot drink in a thermos, watching the boats on the ocean as the sun starts to go down. Part of what makes Portland such an amazing place to live is how close nature is to the city. It’s a 10-20-minute drive to a hike, lake or nature preserve. Much of Maine culture is about getting outside and taking advantage of the landscape.

There are what seem to be an infinite number of beaches to choose from. Choosing a beach to go to from Portland makes it easy since it sits about 45 minutes north of the New Hampshire border, and is about 4 hours from Lubec, the easternmost tip of Maine. There are several state parks, lakes and mountains that are well within a day trip from Portland.

Portland has one of the highest cost of living rates in all of the country. Secondly, the Old Port is a major tourist attraction every summer! Thirdly, the land and scenery cannot be beat. A beautiful place to move, if you can afford it!
