Kathmandu is an awesome city. Lived there for a couple of years as an expat and absolutely loved my time in this quiet Himalayan kingdom. Kathmandu is way toned-down from Delhi; the vibe is ‘chill’. Extremely peaceful, extremely friendly, and extremely delicious. Great third-wave coffee scene, so many fun markets, and Labim mall is a great place to go to the cinema. A wonderful, enjoyable city.

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal and is widely populated with people from all around Nepal. People come here for better job opportunities. There are many tourism attractions as well like Pashupatinath temple, boudha, Bhaktapur durbar square, Patan durbar square, etc. If anyone is considering moving here, they should make arrangements for their accommodation beforehand.

Kathmandu used to be a city of temples for tourists and a city of dreams for the rural Nepalese. Now, it is more of a concrete jungle undergoing rapid urbanization and population growth. For the people moving here, one should be prepared to seep into the bustle of the city, survive the dusty roads, traffic jam and scarce water.

Someone moving here, Kathmandu, should know where he/she is moving to. One must consider various things like transportation routes, eateries, popular tourist spots, and more to take full advantage of my beautiful city. Primarily, one must know the daily public vehicle routes to save money as there will be higher charge on other means of transport. Kathmandu is known for numerous Nepali food including Dhedo, Sisno, Gundruk, Momo, and Chow Mein. One can find and savor these food items every nook and corner of the city. There are also beautiful tourist spots in the city. Thamel is one of them which lies in the Western part of Kathmandu. One can buy, eat, and troll around this place for delicacies, beautiful spots and garments. These are few things know before moving here.

Nepal’s capital is set in a valley surrounded by the Himalayan mountains. At the heart of the old city’s maze like alleys is Durbar Square, which becomes frenetic during Indra Jatra, a religious festival featuring masked dances. Many of the city’s historic sites were damaged or destroyed by a 2015 earthquake. Durbar Square’s palace, Hanuman Dhoka, and Kasthamandap, a wooden Hindu temple, are being rebuilt.
