While quality of life is something of an elusive or ill-defined concept, it can be boiled down to "Is Kathmandu a good place to live?" or "Is Kathmandu a bad place to live?" Here's what seven local experts had to say about quality of life and overall happiness in Kathmandu, Bagmati Pradesh.

Kathmandu is an awesome city. Lived there for a couple of years as an expat and absolutely loved my time in this quiet Himalayan kingdom. Kathmandu is way toned-down from Delhi; the vibe is ‘chill’. Extremely peaceful, extremely friendly, and extremely delicious. Great third-wave coffee scene, so many fun markets, and Labim mall is a great place to go to the cinema. A wonderful, enjoyable city.

HELPFUL REPORT

my city is like a maze so I recommend one to carry a map either physical or digital so that you will not face various problems. People here also cannot speak English so I would also recommend bringing a guide with you. one must have exchanged their home currency to my nation’s currency.

Kathmandu is a very good place. Rent is affordable. Street food is usually healthy and delicious. There is a little bit of pollution but there are also a lot of trees. You can visit many places like Swayambhunath Stupa. Thamel, Kathmandu’s main nightlife zone, is a very good tourist destination.

The streets in my city are quite crowded so be careful of pickpockets and minor accidents if you are using vehicles. People here are welcoming and would do anything to make you comfortable. When you meet someone, they’d love if you greeted them namaste joining your palms and slightly bowing your head.

If moving to Kathmandu, know it is a wonderful place. There are lots of places. Kathmandu is full of diverse people living together. People of different cultures, ethnicity, religion live together in this city. Kathmandu is known as the city which never sleeps.

winter is surprising as it can be felt once someone settles there. The people are the early bird also goes bed early. The city as its in developing phase there might be some pollution but once its finished its great place. There are temples that carries historical values and has a great chance for tourism industry.

Kathmandu is a beautiful place where there are many culture and rituals. You will have a lot fun in the city. But it has highly dense population than other cities. There are many temples in the city. People in this city is very helpful to each other. I would highly recommend to live here cause it have more facilities than other cities in Nepal.
