From buying a car to purchasing groceries to following the latest fashion trends, here's what five local experts had to say about shopping in Bucharest.

If you consider moving to Bucharest you should be prepared for the crowded traffic and overpriced groceries and gas due to recent inflation. Also be careful about pickpocketers and beggers because they mostly target foreigners. On the bright side though, most of the people in Bucharest are pretty helpful if you need indications or recommendations about certain places and you might find our architecture from the old city center quite marvelous.

HELPFUL REPORT

Not many people speak any languages besides Romanian. A lot of people here will try to scam you of your money, even in plain daylight or in supermarkets. Some parts of Bucharest are very dangerous, especially at night!

To anyone moving to Bucharest, they should know rent prices and personal safety vary wildly depending on the neighborhood, with the cheapest and least safe being in the south of the city and the most expensive and safest being in the city center and in the north.

Someone who moves here should be mindful of traffic and the prices. I reside in the capital of my country, so traffic here is more prominent than in other cities., depending of the country which the person is from, there may be either smaller or bigger prices in the possibly new location.

it gets very hot in summer. Also, the prices are a little bit on the higher side. The parks, especially Herăstrău, are very clean and well groomed. The Palace of Parliament in Bucharest is one of the biggest buildings in Europe and you can always visit it.
