While quality of life is something of an elusive or ill-defined concept, it can be boiled down to "Is Hoedspruit a good place to live?" or "Is Hoedspruit a bad place to live?" Here's what two local experts had to say about quality of life and overall happiness in Hoedspruit, Limpopo.

As the locals like to say: “Hoedspruit is a drinking town with a tourist problem.” If you’ve been here before you’re bound to be back. It’s the kind of place you’re happy to come back to and about just as happy to leave if you know it well enough. It’s expensive, cliquey, green, quiet and beautiful. It’s growing faster by the day so come see us while we’re still quaint. Have a beer at 8, a braai at 10, a swim at 14, a drive at 17 and a whiskey before bed just to do it all again.

HELPFUL REPORT

Hoedspruit is in the heart of the bushveld in South Africa. Here you will find all kinds of wildlife, and fauna and flora. It is adjacent to the well known Kruger National Park, so seeing the Big five is only about an hour’s drive away. The weather is warm in winter and extremely hot in summer, with temperatures reaching around 42 degrees celsius. The crime rate is low, so safety is no issue. Hoedspruit is a wonderful place.
