The ‘Pehle-aap, Pehle-aap’ thing isn’t a joke. Mind you, it happens here. When asked why do we always speak in plural, we always say it proudly ‘It’s a City of Nawabs and this is the Nawabi style’. We love it when we talk to non-lucknowities like ‘Ama yaar..’ and their eyes go wide.

My city is one of the oldest city in the country. Its architecture is a mix of arabic-indo art. Also, it is the capital city of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The opportunities for jobs are many and healthcare services are very good.

Anyone moving to Lucknow should know Lucknow us the city of Nawabs and it is famous for its delicious cuisine. People who resides in Lucknow are extremely humble and helpful, though, you can land yourself in trouble if you do not control your tongue while speaking. In short, people in Lucknow are full of etiquette.

Lucknow is considered the city of “Tehzeeb” (i.e., the city which embraces civility, culture and art). One must be a lover of architecture and music. He should know some of the local language and must abide by the rules as the administration is very strict. He must also be environmentally friendly.

It has a great ancient cultural heritage, though most of its parts have been modernized but it really can provide a sense of a calm and peaceful environment. This city is specifically known across India for the mannerisms and sweet etiquettes of people. If you come to this city then you must learn to speak politely. It has several tourism attractions too which really portray the cultural art of old times. It really is a very nice place.

Someone moving here should have an idea of the type of culture being followed so that no one can take undue advantage of him/her. we call auto driver as “bhaiya” and converse in Hindi. be aware of the normal cab/auto rates for moving from one place to another. have heard about the known places in the city like Imambara, Aminabad, Hazratganj, Charbagh railway station, and Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport.

Lucknow is known for its language, culture and food. This city is also famous for its tehzeeb (manner) and chiken work in clothing. This makes my city special and different from other cities. People of our city are polite and humble in nature. There are many places to visit in our city like Imambara, residency, riverfront etc.
