It is an up-and-coming area in the Appalachians surrounded by natural beauty. It boosts a medical school and a college of pharmacy. It is also very family friendly.

Johnson City is a hub of new life. Specifically downtown Johnson City, which is home to East Tennessee State University, is growing to accommodate its large student population. There is something for everyone: quiet coffee shops for studying, exotic restaurants for gathering together, and nightlife for a weekend on the town.

Johnson City is a small town whose greatest pride comes from being included in the classic country song “Wagon Wheel.” It is surrounded by mountains and incredibly beautiful nature. Though the pace of life is slow, no one wants it to go any faster. The people are quite content enjoying their safe haven far from the busyness of urban America.
