Lacey is a middle-sized town in Washington that has amenities such as many parks, good schools, and varied shopping opportunities. It is close to Joint Base Lewis McChord and the cost of living is significantly more affordable than the surrounding towns of DuPont and Steilacoom. Lacey is especially family friendly. The City Of Lacey provides a free summer concert series representing a variety of genres and hosts free educational events at the library to include movies and a summer reading program. Lacey is a safer town than nearby Lakewood and Roy, in which the cost of living is similar, yet the crime rate is higher.
