Are there taxis in Montego Bay? What about scooters? What are the public transportation options? Here's what eight local experts had to say about transportation methods in Montego Bay, St. James.

Anyone considering moving to my city should know where to locate the different taxi stands as not knowing them could result in getting lost. Each taxi stand carries the name of its destination. Even with this knowledge a person could still get lost as the names of some communities as very similar.

Montego Bay is full of life and numerous opportunities. However, it is imperative to note that it is heavily population. Traffic and pollution is a large problem that citizens face daily. In addition to this, crime and violence is on the rise. The city has many attractions and fun things to do; including wonderful restaurants, beaches and amusement parks.

In moving to the city of Montego Bay know transportation is easily accessible to all the suburbs. The people are friendly, warm and hospitable. Some places that I recommend for newcomers to visit are the Rose Hall Great House and any of our white sandy beaches. Unfortunately, renting or leasing accommodations in Montego Bay is very expensive.

Montego Bay is known for its engaging nightlife, jerked chicken, beautiful beaches and friendly people. While all this fun is enticing, prepare for annoying traffic, summer heat and sandflies if you visit the beach to view the sunset. You should also plan to do home exercises or to join a gym; the tasty food can easily get the better of you.

Montego Bay is very fast-paced, but the locals are friendly. Traffic is really bad in the mornings and evening especially when school is in session. It’s mostly sunny all the time except from September to December when it’s hurricane season. There are also lots of jobs in the tourism field as Montego Bay is the tourist capital of Jamaica.

Montego Bay is a beautiful city which is on the west side of Jamaica. It is well-known for its beautiful beaches, luxurious hotels, and wonderful people. The central town is located approximately 10 to 20 minutes from most communities, 10 minutes from the Sangster’s International Airport, and 10 minutes from the main public hospital. Transportation within the city is easily accessible, safe, and reliable.

Montego Bay, anyone moving to Montego Bay must come prepared to visit the beaches and clubs. We also have a to die for jerked chicken they must try. Once you approach the airport you have a vast variety of things to choose from when it comes to shopping and learning about the country.

The city never sleeps as you will see people going about their business all throughout the day for night. The people are warm and friendly and won’t hesitate to help you if you get lost. There is always somewhere open here you can grab a bite to eat. And taxis are always available to take you to and from your destination.
