Nobody likes traffic. Not a single soul. Here's what three local experts had to say about traffic in Tirana. Perhaps you'll find some tips to avoid rush hour and some potholes.

It is a very safe city but a bit chaotic with car and foot traffic. Great food and people are friendly once you ‘prime the pump.’

People here are very welcoming. Be careful with the speed limit because there are a lot of policies around. The salary is low, consider working two jobs to earn enough for living. The weather is nice, most of the days are sunny. The language is a bit difficult at the beginning but try to practice it with native speaking people.

Tirana is a city full of life. The everyday life is cheap, you can find great food in a nice restaurant for five euros. Also, there is a large amount of cafeterias -some of them with a nice view- that will offer good coffee and pretty much anything you like (yes, also wine and beer). Although mobility is quite easy in the public transport, during rush hours you might find traffic in the main roads, but nothing more than a 15 minute delay. There is a lake just 15 minute walking from the centre where you can have a coffee, a snack, take a walk, make some exercise early in the morning or simply sit on the benches and enjoy the view.
