When moving to Accra, Ghana, it is important to know that the city has a tropical climate with high temperatures and humidity year-round. Be prepared for the bustling traffic and consider using public transportation or hiring a local driver to navigate the city more efficiently. Embrace the vibrant Ghanaian culture by trying local foods like jollof rice and banku, and participating in cultural festivals such as Homowo and Chale Wote. Lastly, familiarize yourself with the local customs and traditions, such as greeting others with a handshake and addressing elders with respect.

The cost of living is extremely high, the city is overpopulated due to rural to urban migration. The seat of government is located in this very city, and so are most businesses. There are a number of tourist sites in the city as well, all adding up to create massive human and vehicular traffic at all times.

The city is a very busy one. People in the city normally work from Monday to Friday and sometimes Saturdays. There’s always a traffic jam from 7:00am to 10:00 am, so if you want to get to work early, then you have to leave home between the hours of 4:00am to 6:00 am.

One major problem however is the constant traffic on our roads throughout the week. In Accra, you will see different cultures in Ghana meshing as a result of rural urban migration.
