North Las Vegas is in Clark County, Nevada. It lies north of Las Vegas, which is a popular tourist destination. From many of the freeways you can see the lights of the Las Vegas strip. But, in the actual city of North Las Vegas, you feel like you are nowhere near a tourist destination.

North Las Vegas, like most of southern Nevada, can reach temperatures of over 100 degrees during the Summer. While the Strip is less than 30 minutes away, there is so much more to do in the city than gambling. There are many parks sprinkled throughout the city and neighboring suburbs that are very family friendly. The job market is also flourishing with an abundance of opportunities for every job seeker. If you are looking for better weather, fun activities for the whole family and affordable living, North Las Vegas is the place for you.

If you’re planning a move to Las Vegas, you should be prepared to suffer through the extremely high temperatures that Summer brings. Also, due to the dry climate and strong winds, many people develop allergies.

Las Vegas is well known for the casinos and nightlife, so if one were to prefer a quieter life, they should look into homes in the communities far from the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas area. Las Vegas is known as a city full of transients, so there is a large homeless population here. There are some areas of town that are popular among the homeless, and can be undesirable for many.
