Someone moving to North Las Vegas should be prepared for both hot, dry summers and bitingly cold winters; the latter seems to come as a surprise to many. Aside from extreme weather, North Las Vegas also happens to boast an effective and reliable public transportation system, which is a great advantage for commuters. Something else of note is that casinos are the only avenue available for gambling, so anyone who would prefer trying his or her luck with lottery tickets would have to go out of state just to purchase one.

North Las Vegas, like most of southern Nevada, can reach temperatures of over 100 degrees during the Summer. While the Strip is less than 30 minutes away, there is so much more to do in the city than gambling. There are many parks sprinkled throughout the city and neighboring suburbs that are very family friendly. The job market is also flourishing with an abundance of opportunities for every job seeker. If you are looking for better weather, fun activities for the whole family and affordable living, North Las Vegas is the place for you.

If you’re planning a move to Las Vegas, you should be prepared to suffer through the extremely high temperatures that Summer brings. Also, due to the dry climate and strong winds, many people develop allergies.

Las Vegas is well known for the casinos and nightlife, so if one were to prefer a quieter life, they should look into homes in the communities far from the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas area. Las Vegas is known as a city full of transients, so there is a large homeless population here. There are some areas of town that are popular among the homeless, and can be undesirable for many.
