Martins Ferry is small, so it does not have access to bigger stores like Walmart. Those places are about 15 minute away, but there are still some other places to shop and visit in the city. There is a large park where yearly they do an art festival and sell fruits. There is also another time where they have the road of sales, where they have yard sales and other sellers with tents selling goods. There are some Mom and Pop places, which helps keep business showing up in town. Hanover, which is right on the edge, is family owned. They sell ribs off the smoker every Friday. All other days, excluding Sunday, they sell burgers or sandwiches and can deliver. Martins Ferry, while small, is a nice place even if you do have to drive 15 minutes to get to a major retailer. The roads are nice to drive through, so it doesn’t make the trip that much of a slog.

If you want to go to a casino, you just have to drive 10 minutes and you arrive in Wheeling, West Virginia where you can gamble, eat, and sleep. Martins Ferry has the BMV (Bureau of Motor Vehicles) which is important for new cars and identification.

Martins Ferry is a small, rural city in Ohio that has a popular High School football team called the Purple Riders. Martins Ferry is on the edge of the highway, so it can be easy to miss as it is one of those “blink and you’ll miss it” cities. There is also a bakery called Nickels, which has the best bread and it is seen in many surrounding cities and store such as Krogers, Walmart, and Sam’s Club.
