Akure, a city in Ondo State, Nigeria, is often called “the City for the Retired” because of its serenity. Unlike other cities in Nigeria, it has a calm atmosphere. Contrary to the popular opinion, Akure is not a “village” but a well-developed city. Funny enough, the popular shopping mall called “Shoprite” is in my city.
