Anyone moving to the small city of Sighetu Marmatiei should never to articulate the word “Sighetu” in Romanian (i.e., “Sighetul”). Second, you should absolutely visit the Memorial to the Victims of Communism and the Elie Wiesel House if you’re interested in history. If you like the tradition of Balkan countries, you should have a look at the open-air Maramures Village museum.
