Dehradun is the capital of the Indian state of Uttarakhand, near the Himalayan foothills. At its core is the 6-sided Ghanta Ghar clock tower. To the southwest is Paltan Bazaar, a busy shopping area. Just east is the Sikh temple Gurdwara Nanaksar, topped with ornate white and golden domes. In Clement Town to the city’s southwest, Mindrolling Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist center with shrine rooms in its Great Stupa.

Be open to witnessing variations in climate ranging from hot summers to bone chilling winters. People are simple and helpful ready to aid if you please. The cost of living is moderate, the market is centrally located and the means of transportation readily available. Zostel facilities are available if one is willing to stay at low cost.

it’s a tourist place so they should prefer visiting during lean season to get stuff at cheaper price. They must buy litchi and tea from here because Dehradun is quite famous for it. They should also consider visiting FRI, IMA, Gucchu Pani, Sahastradhara, Tapkeshwar to name a few.

One can visit Paltan Bazar here. This market is most crowded and up to every one’s pocket. You can get everything you wish within your wallet. The best you bargain best you will get. This market is just at the city center. On Sunday you can try your bargaining skills here.
