Someone considering moving to my city should know that although the cost of living here is very affordable compared to many other cities, it is heavily populated with college students attending Brigham Young University, a large private university in the heart of Provo. This university is also associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints which might be an issue for some people.
Provo, Utah, is quite an interesting place. It is, primarily, a college town. Most Provo residents are students or faculty at the local university, BYU. The town attains its uniqueness from the university, BYU is a private, LDS-affiliated, school, to which LDS church members flock from all over the world. Because of the nature of the school, Provo has a distinct culture that is found nowhere else on the planet.
When moving to the city of Provo, one should understand its history, particularly of its people. A large portion of the city’s population consists of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In addition to Provo’s unique demographic, this city houses a vast variety of foreign foods in the form of both restaurants and markets. Provo is also home to Brigham Young University, a private college run by the Church.
Provo is a major college town in northern Utah. It has a desert climate but gets quite cold in winter and experienced a large amount of snow.
