While quality of life is something of an elusive or ill-defined concept, it can be boiled down to "Is Kitwe a good place to live?" or "Is Kitwe a bad place to live?" Here's what one local expert had to say about quality of life and overall happiness in Kitwe, Copperbelt.

It is the second largest city in the country, home to wonderful scenery and mine thugs called “Jerabos”. Coming through into Kitwe just close to the train bridge is a large slug mountain of mineral waste that was given the nickname “Black mountain” by the locals. Anywho, despite the name it is a intriguing site and wonderful city altogether… Well except the mine thugs bit.
