Portimão is a the second biggest city in Algarve, on the south coast of Portugal. Here you have beautiful beaches with high cliffs and beautiful landscapes over the sea, like Praia da Rocha (the biggest beach), Praia dos Três Castelos and Praia do Vau. Portimão is a tourist city during summer but all over the year it has its life with good places to shop, very good restaurants and is suitable for water sports.

Portimao is one of the busiest cities in the Algarve, and one of the friendliest. The old town that runs parallel to the river is very pretty, but much of the town was built in a hurry after the 1974 revolution and many of the buildings are quite ugly. Still, it has its charm and is a great place.
