I would suggest not moving here. Crime and unemployment is horrible.

When moving to Memphis, TN the person should expect road rage during traffic. The newcomer should also be prepared to gain weight due to all of the great restaurants that the city has to offer. Lastly, hopefully, they are already used to Southern hospitality, as we are full of charm.

Memphis could be a much better place if there was not so much crime. I love it here but I would not recommend for someone to move here.

For aspiring homeowners on a budget, Memphis offers fantastically low prices in real estate. You get a big bang for your buck. Although our city has a reputation for violent crime, I have never experienced anything like that, in my nearly 30-year residence. Perhaps this is due to the city’s wide geographic spread, about a million people in nearly a dozen “zones” in the greater Memphis area.

Memphis is known for having the best barbecue in the world. And let’s not forget the music. Barbecue Festival is once a year and you can get the very best of both worlds. Where else can you get Toby Keith, Snoop Dogg, Dixie Chicks, Saliva and Jon B. playing at the same time? Just amazing.

Memphis has the fourth highest crime rate in the US. But Memphis is also the seventh most affordable city, according to the CCER in 2018. And we have Graceland, if you really like Elvis or you just want to visit a cool mansion.

Anyone visiting Memphis should know Memphis has many historic homes for sale throughout the city. The housing market in Memphis is competitively low compare to other southern states. Homes that are listed on the market usually sell fast. There also many new communities being built on the outskirts of the city.

If someone moves to Memphis, they should know we have some of the best barbeque in the world. Memphis is slowly growing and although certain areas can be dangerous, their are still beautiful parts to it. I encourage anyone to visit and fall in love with the South.
