Maclear is a small farm town in the Eastern Cape. It is situated at the bottom of the Drakensberg mountains and is home to the various cultural groups of South Africa. It’s main tourist attraction is the dinosaur footprint and also the ancient bushman cave drawings. Maclear was named by a Scottish settler but its its original name, as it’s known by the indigenous Xhosa people as Nqanqa Rhu.
Maclear is a small town in the heart of the Eastern Cape. The town is of a mountainous landscape and is famous for the farming of sheep and cattle. The town has a beautiful green scenery and is between forests of pine used to make pine boards. It is a small town known for its extremely cold winters and very hot summers.
