Miagao is one of the growing municipalities in the province of Iloilo. It is also considered the “Onion Capital of the Visayas” and the town center of the municipality lies on the western bank of the Tumagbok River, the largest river in the municipality. It is also home to the Miagao Church, known as the Santo Tomás de Villanueva Parish Church, which is a Roman Catholic church built in 1786.
