From dinosaurs to explorers to wars, here's what three local experts had to say about the history of Centurion, Gauteng.

In my city so much can be done, firstly we have an animal zoo where anyone can go and also do a picnic not to mention that the most famous building that was built during the apartheid era still exists known as the Union building, tourists from all over the world come to the province to see the building and take pictures.

HELPFUL REPORT

Centurion is based in Pretoria, near the Union buildings which is the house the presidential offices of the president as well as the South African government. Centurion, as a city, as various tourist attractions; for both local and international tourists, such as lion and safari park, Voortrekker Monument and Hennops Hiking trails inter alia.

Centurion consist of a variety of residents from all parts of live, including military personnel due to the military base in the area. It is a friendly community with a lot of Afrikaans and English speaking people in the area. It has a few historical sites for the history enthusiasts, places for nature lovers and enough shopping centres that it caters for all interests.
