Brantford, Ontario, is considered the telephone city due to its history with the invention of the modern telephone in 1876. Alexander Graham Bell, although he was born in Scotland, moved to Canada with his family when he was very young. It was in his parents’ farmhouse that he set up his workshop and came about developing a modern communication device, that we refer to as the telephone.
