Derby is a cathedral city located on the river Derwent in the very centre of the United Kingdom. There are many interesting places to visit where you can learn about the local culture and heritage. For example, the museum has an ancient viking ship on display that was buried and preserved in a muddy riverbed, the Old Silk Mill has engineering exhibits from the famous Derby-based manufacturer Rolls Royce, and if you are feeling brave you can take part in a guided ghost walk around the city at night.

Derby is ‘The Dead Centre of England’… it has a haunted and gory history that can be explored on its famous ‘Ghost Walks’. My city is also home to some notable industry (including rail and aerospace), and to one of England’s oldest china and porcelain manufacturers. The Peak District, famous for its natural beauty and its caves, is only a short drive away.
