Brantford is the Telephone City; is is the home of Alexander Graham Bell. There are many museums, parks and shops. Brantford has a wonderful memorial park set up for the war time exhibits of remembrance that you simply must visit.

Brantford is home to the beautiful Grand River, which is among the largest rivers in Ontario. It is popular with those who enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, fishing and swimming. For those who prefer to stay on dry land, Brantford has picturesque hiking and multi-use trails, a myriad of wonderful local restaurants, and a thriving arts community.

Brantford, Ontario, is considered the telephone city due to its history with the invention of the modern telephone in 1876. Alexander Graham Bell, although he was born in Scotland, moved to Canada with his family when he was very young. It was in his parents’ farmhouse that he set up his workshop and came about developing a modern communication device, that we refer to as the telephone.
