London is a beautiful city with plenty of foliage and displays of Canadian culture. There are many post-secondary institutions in my city; newcomers should be aware of the large student-based population. London is also the home of many seasonal festivals that bring different communities together and promote inclusivity. Lastly, a newcomer should keep in mind that London has a lot of history. This is especially evident in the downtown core, Richmond Row, a name coined by locals.

London, Ontario, is a wonderful city. London is about two hours west of the GTA, which provides convenience for people who want to be in a metropolitan city while being close to urban places. There are a lot of places to explore, from indoor activities such as museums to outdoor ones like the Springbank.

There are two things that London is best known for, one being that it is a forest city and two is being a retirement city. It is not the place if you have a tree phobia since most streets are lined with them. There is an abundance of bike and walking trails along the river making London an ideal spot for the outdoor enthusiast. The low key atmosphere makes this city a great place to retire, however, there is very little nightlife in the downtown core. If late night fun is what you are looking for, Toronto might be a better choice.
