Downtown is where many of the businesses in town are. Downtown Anderson has a theater called the Paramount. Its ceiling looks like the sky. The symphony plays there and there are Halloween and Christmas shows. They also have other events there, such as fundraisers and proms.
Shadyside Memorial Park has a lake that you can walk around, kayak, and fish in. There is also a big playground there. Both parks have very nice trails and trees. They are very good places to take pictures, paint or have picnics. On 8th St. there are beautiful houses that look like doll houses. During the winter, when the Christmas lights are on, it looks beautiful. That part of town is called the Historical District.
