Arroyo Grande is a unique oasis, a tiny village in the middle of the most populated state in the nation, situated exactly halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Lightning Joe’s has a psychedelic attic where bands play. You can enjoy the comfort of coffee (and the cushy seats) at Café Andreini. In Arroyo Grande, chickens roam free and there are more antique stores than franchises.
Despite being a relatively unknown city, the community of Arroyo Grande has much to offer residents and visitors. Located close to famed San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach on the central coast, Arroyo Grande offers a variety of wineries and restaurants, a historic village, and an enviable proximity to the ocean and dunes. The beautiful views range from seemingly endless beaches to the mountainous peaks of California. However, it must be said that the true attraction of Arroyo Grande– the wild chickens roaming free in The Village!
