As Stockholm lies in Sweden, it gets pretty cold during winter which might be difficult to cope with for someone who is used to a warmer climate. People also tend to be more to themselves and socially anxious, not only in Stockholm but in all of Sweden. There is also a shortage of apartments so you might have a hard time finding one.

If you are contemplating moving to Stockholm you must know that the weather is seasonal and winters are arduous. During winter, which can last nearly six months, there is very little sunlight. Then, during summer, there is nothing but sunlight. Another thing to mention about Stockholm is that the Swedish government have a monopoly on the sale of alcohol, therefore all alcohol must be bought at government owned stores known as Systemet.

Much has been said about the cold, dark winters of Stockholm, but one should not forget to remember the contrasting summers of warmth and sun. The days stretch long into the night and summer is filled with barbecues and swimming in the numerous lakes. However, you should never leave your home without a coat, whatever the season.

I think it is important to know Stockholm is very gloomy and dark during a big part of the year. It is also important to know it gets pretty cold in Stockholm during winter. Though, summer is very beautiful and there is a lot of nature to experience.

Someone traveling to Stockholm should be prepared for extremely long winters; it is necessary to bring a warm winter coat! It is difficult to get very far in Stockholm without having a personal number, so I recommend that you try and sort this out before you come.
