Being known for its wine and crayfish, Vredendal is quite a remarkable town. Just a few hours drive to the sea and mountains and surrounded by wine farms it’s the perfect place to get some rest and enjoy a weekend away. Although some of us are lucky enough to enjoy it daily!

Vredendal is a small town three hours drive from the big city of Cape Town. Although we do not have as many people staying here and a lot of shops to go to, we have a beautiful town. We have a sea close to us and some mountains, and just after winter we have fields full of flowers, you wouldn’t believe your eyes.

Vredendal is located approximately 20 kilometres for the N7 national road between the Western and Northern Cape Provinces. There is rapid migration from other towns and provinces, because of jobs from the surrounding mines, a shopping mall land other economic opportunities. It is about 50 kilometres from the coast and the wine industry is also a primary economic sector, with the tourism industry. It has two secondary and three primary schools, with the West Coast College for tertiary studies.
