The traffic around here is terrible, but the views, if you take the George Washington Parkway into D.C., are gorgeous. The Potomac River is a sight to see when you’re driving alongside it, especially when it rains and the river rises. You have to be careful in that case as the river can flood and cause traffic to back up.

When moving to Alexandria VA, be prepared for a large population. There is also a lot of traffic in Northern Virginia. Which many people like to avoid. But there are many jobs due to being in the city, which is quite nice. There are also many people of many ethnic backgrounds which is absolutely amazing, because you may meet so many people from all around the world!

Alexandria is an urban city. There is many activities such as visiting Old Town Alexandria, a historic part of the city, and enjoying walks along the Potomac river and venturing into DC to see the National Monuments and the White House. Although there is a good deal of traffic don’t be concerned! The metro has lines the run all over the city that you can use any time of day.

When moving to Alexandria, Virginia, consider its close proximity to DC. It is wonderful to be close to the city but please consider the amount of traffic this causes. Alexandria is on the water, so you can take a boat or a ferry to the city to avoid traffic.
