Alexandria is a beautiful, quaint town; it’s full of history and plenty of sights to see! The historic downtown sits on the waterfront of the Potomac river and boasts an abundance of dining options, as well as shopping experiences, for all tastes and price ranges. It is a charming, bustling city that still manages to have that small-town feel that many look for in such a populated area!

The traffic around here is terrible, but the views, if you take the George Washington Parkway into D.C., are gorgeous. The Potomac River is a sight to see when you’re driving alongside it, especially when it rains and the river rises. You have to be careful in that case as the river can flood and cause traffic to back up.
